GET United D1 strengthens backcourt with American guard Kaylee Borden

GET United has strengthened its squad with American player Kaylee Borden. The 23-year-old combo guard moves over from Utah Tech University (NCAA Division I) and adds speed, scoring ability and basketball IQ to head coach Gregory Tjin-A-Koeng’s roster.

Borden had an outstanding final season at the highest level of American college basketball. In NCAA Division I she averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, establishing herself as one of Utah Tech’s key players. Thanks to her versatility she can play both point guard and shooting guard, bringing a combination of scoring ability, playmaking and defensive intensity to Bemmel.

Head coach Gregory Tjin-A-Koeng sees Borden as a player who can be valuable on multiple fronts. “With Kaylee we’re adding an explosive combo guard to our roster. She combines scoring ability both inside and outside the bucket with a high basketball IQ and the ability to organise the game. A player who can make the difference on multiple fronts.”

Borden herself is also looking forward to her first season at GET United. “Choosing GET United felt like the right step for me. I was looking for a club with ambition, a competitive environment and a team that wants to achieve something together. I’m excited to bring energy, intensity and leadership to the court, and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in Bemmel and represent the club this season.”

Familiar core stays intact

Alongside Borden’s arrival, a significant part of the current squad remains in place. Asa Kantebeen, Rinske Scholten, Yfke Hoek, Lisanne de Jonge, Moniek Meeringa and Nienke Slot will all wear the GET United shirt again next season. This keeps the core of the team intact and builds on the development of recent seasons.

With this combination of international reinforcements and a strong, familiar base, GET United continues working on a squad ready to compete at the top of Dutch women’s basketball next season.
