United Basketball and QSTA, the online fresh-food market for food professionals, are entering a three-year partnership. QSTA is a B2B commerce platform that offers food professionals a unique service by providing a broad assortment of products from a large number of partners in the fresh-produce segment. QSTA is one of the companies of Bieze Food Group (‘BFG’), a group of collaborating enterprises within the food industry.
BFG has been connected to United Basketball as a business partner since the club’s founding and, as a Gelderland company that holds healthy, tasty food in high regard, feels strongly committed to the goals and ambitions of United Basketball. “The collaboration with United Basketball gives us tremendous opportunities to put QSTA, our fast-growing trading platform, further on the map,” says Rian Faaij, Managing Director of QSTA. “The organisation’s ambition and approach really appeal to us and we see plenty of opportunities to collaborate, so as far as we’re concerned we can’t wait to get started together after the summer,” adds a broadly smiling Faaij.
All United Basketball teams, with the exception of Yoast United, will compete under the name QSTA United in the coming seasons. That means all the Eredivisie youth teams, the promotion-division team and the first women’s team, competing in the Women’s Basketball League, the highest level in the Netherlands. QSTA will also be visible on the shirts of Yoast United, which plays in the BNXT League.
Jurgen van Krevel, CEO of Bieze Food Group: “From the very first moment I’ve been enthusiastic about everything that’s happening in Bemmel. The passion of a group of ambitious people with a big heart for sport and talent development appeals to me enormously. As a Gelderland company we feel very connected to this region and we think it’s important to show that in word and deed. United Basketball offers us a wonderful platform to spread our mission of ‘tasty and healthy food for everyone’.”
Gelderland Gezond
The partnership between QSTA and United Basketball also marks the starting point of the Gelderland Gezond (‘Healthy Gelderland’) programme, whose mission is to inspire the people of Gelderland to eat more healthily, live more healthily and move more. The ambition is to involve young and old alike, with, among other things, a programme for schools, clinics and a host of other activities. In this context, United Basketball will be looking for more Gelderland companies that want to commit to this social objective.
Jeroen Naalden, United Basketball’s commercial manager, responds to the new partnership as follows: “QSTA and United Basketball are a great match. As a committed employer, BFG places great value on personal development and collaboration. That fits very well with our vision as a basketball organisation. What’s more, QSTA provides healthy food products and meals, something we’re also keen to offer our athletes. We’re really looking forward to shaping the Gelderland Gezond programme together with QSTA and other partners. A fine step in professionalising and growing basketball in Gelderland!”
QSTA: welcome to the family!
